God's Greatest Gift

The purpose behind Jesus going to the cross was to pay for our sins and allow us to become heirs and joint heirs with Him for eternity.

Salvation is a very personal decision.  It is not something that anyone else can decide for you or a decision that you can make for anyone else.  It is something you must decide for yourself.

Jesus made it very plain in John, chapter 3, when He spoke with Nicodemus, that in order to go to heaven, we “must be born again.”  Jesus also said in John 14:16 that “no man comes to the Father, but by me.”

John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God, through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, made it possible for anyone, through the acceptance of what His Son did, and repentance of sin, to be “born again” or “saved.”

Just as we are born physically through a very wonderful, supernatural process, so we can be born spiritually.  Jesus said, “unless you are born of the water (physically), and of the spirit (spiritually), you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

When you are born spiritually – it is the Holy Spirit who does all the work.  The scripture says in Romans 3:10, “There is none righteous, no not one.”  At the point when you realize you are a sinner and that you cannot make it to heaven on your own good works, it is as simple as asking God to forgive you of your sins and handing Him control of your life.  It is a heart decision, and the Holy Spirit actually performs a supernatural metamorphosis.  II Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.”  This act IS the greatest miracle known to man.  We are “born again,” but this time spiritually.

The most beautiful part of this wonderful gift God has given us is that it’s free and anyone can have it.  It only requires a willing and obedient heart.  If you have never been born again but would like to. . .
